What is an MCP server?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use tools from other services. Zaprep’s MCP server gives your AI tool 40+ tools for your Instagram and Facebook automations, and only the access you approve.

Common questions

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude call tools exposed by a third-party service (in this case, your Zaprep account) directly from a conversation.

Do I need a Zaprep account to use this?

Yes. The MCP server acts on your existing Zaprep workspace, so sign up (or log in) first, then connect it to Claude.

Is this only for Claude.ai?

No. The hosted MCP server works with any MCP-compatible client: ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, Gemini, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Perplexity, Notion, n8n and more. Each has a setup guide above. Claude is the quickest because Zaprep is listed in its connector directory.

Can an AI send messages on my behalf without asking?

No. An AI only sets up and edits automations; Zaprep sends DMs when those automations fire. New automations an AI creates are saved paused, every tool call is logged, and you can disconnect any AI app under Settings → AI tools.

What if I don’t use an AI tool?

You can still manage everything from the Zaprep dashboard directly. MCP is an optional faster path for people who already work in a chat or an AI editor.
